Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information GrainSight collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: your inspection data is private to your account, and we never sell your information.
Last updated: August 22, 2026
1. Information we collect
We collect the information you give us and a small amount of technical data needed to run the service:
- Account information — your email address, name, and password (stored hashed, never in plain text).
- Inspection data — the rice sample images you submit, sample and lot details (name, lot number, supplier), the quality standard you compare against, AI-estimated composition, and any human-verified result or notes.
- Usage data — pages visited, feature usage, and basic device/browser information used for analytics and abuse prevention.
2. How we use your information
- To operate your account and run AI-assisted analysis on submitted rice sample images.
- To compare inspection results against your selected quality standards and generate inspection records and reports.
- To improve the accuracy and reliability of our AI analysis over time.
- To send service emails — account notices, and product updates you have opted into.
- To keep the platform safe: preventing spam, abuse, and unauthorized access.
3. Your inspection data stays private
GrainSight is a business tool, not a public platform. Rice sample images, inspection results, quality standards, and reports you create are private to your account and are never shown publicly, indexed by search engines, or shared with other GrainSight users or organizations.
4. Cookies & analytics
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the platform is used (page views, referrers, approximate location by country). We do not use advertising trackers and we do not sell or share your data with advertisers.
5. Sharing with third parties
We share data only with the service providers needed to run GrainSight — hosting, database, image storage, and email delivery — and only to the extent required to provide the service. We never sell your personal information or inspection data.
6. Data retention & deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your inspection history, submitted images, and personal information are removed from the platform; residual copies in backups are purged on a rolling basis.
7. Your rights
You can view and export your inspection history at any time from your account. You may also request a copy of your data or full account deletion by emailing us — we will respond within a reasonable time.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the platform evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
